Rebranding and Chiquita Bananas

Any pro-labor girl worth her salt knows the story of United Fruit.

(If you don’t take a second to google, and ask yourself why they didn’t teach you about this in APUSH).

Easily the most appalling example of American capitalism and imperialism, United Fruit seems like a brutal distant past sometimes in modern America. But they’re still around, check ur local publix.

Look for Chiquita Bananas.

Not only are they still around, they’re publicly traded on the NY Stock Exchange. That’s chilling.

And a great example of a rebrand.
